About Christine Belt
PLEASE NOTE : All images on this web site are fully protected and may not be copied, reproduced, manipulated or used in any way, without written permission from Christine Belt Artist Christine Belt 402-981-8964 Belt, Christine, 1959- , American painter, b. Omaha, Nebraska. Studied and received her BA and MA degrees in Art Education from University of Nebraska at Kearney. After a lifetime of frequent visits to Taos, New Mexico, in 2009, Christine was awestruck and influenced by Taos’ artist’s bold and dynamic creations first hand. Subsequently, she made a decision to end her teaching career after twenty two years and was driven to respond artistically to that influence from Taos’ art community with a Midwest twist. Christine tapped into New Mexico’s energy, and connected it to her Midwest roots. Her style thus emerged and has been described as “Contemporary Rural”. During Christine’s formative years growing up, she lived and was exposed to both urban and rural communities. This contrasting experience influenced her design choices as an artist. She realistically portrays subjects found in nature and quite often places them into stylized angular environments. Her use of vibrant and complimentary color further reveal contrasting elements. Some of Christine’s exhibitions and shows include; Blue Pomegranate Gallery’s 2010 Spring Show, Omaha, NE, Featured Artist, Wildwood Art Barn, Nebraska City, NE, July 2013, Featured Artist, Kimmel Gallery, Morton-James Public Library, Nebraska City, NE, Oct. 2013, Pop up Events at Tweed Couch, Omaha, 2015 & 2016, Crane Trust Nature and Visitor Center, Wood River, NE, Aug.- Oct. 2016, and Papillion City Hall Art Gallery, Papillion,NE, Jan. - March 2017. Currently Christine has her own art business called Snickerhaus Studio in Papillion, Nebraska. She offers original art and products that embraces nature and encourages one to surround themselves with love, warmth, and what makes their heart sing.
